God’s Pantry Food Bank distributing Thanksgiving meals

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – More than 4,600 families asked for help with groceries to make their Thanksgiving dinner, and God’s Pantry Food Bank aims to assist them all.

On Monday and Tuesday, the food bank is distributing groceries as part of their Sharing Thanksgiving program.  Distribution will be at the Imani Baptist Church at 1555 Georgetown Road.

It’s the 22nd year for the program, that serves Fayette Co., as well as 49 other counties in the state.  The food bank says a $40 dollar donation is all it takes to sponsor a family this Thanksgiving.

Currently, financial contributions are not keeping pace with the request list.  If you would like to donate, you can mail a check to: God’s Pantry Food Bank, 1685 Jaggie Fox Way, Lexington, KY 40511, or make a secure online donation at godspantry.org.
