Man charged with possessing, viewing child porn

JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (WTVQ)A 25-year-old Boyle County man is charged with possessing child sexual abuse material.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Kelly A. Cole was charged with 10 counts of possessing or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. That’s a Class D felony.

The arrest came after a “knock and talk’ search Thursday of his home in Junction City. Investigators seized computers and other items suspected of being used in the crime. Those items are being analyzed at  the KSP forensic lab, according to troopers.

Cole was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering he allegedly was uploading images of child sexual exploitation online, troopers said in a release.

The investigation continues.

The Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is comprised of more than 26 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The mission of the ICAC Task Force, created by the United States Department of Justice and administrated by the Kentucky State Police, is to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in developing a response to cyber enticement and child sexual abuse material investigations.

The ICAC program was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the internet, the proliferation of child sexual abuse material, and the heightened online activity of predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims.
