State: unpaid Kentucky workers will receive more than $1 million
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky’s Labor Cabinet says it will return over $1,000,000 to unpaid Kentucky workers.
The state says it collected the restitution during the month of October from more than 200 companies who had not paid their employees.
The Labor Cabinet says it will pay back missed wages for nearly 300 employees across the state.
According to the Labor Cabinet, the largest groups of unpaid wages come from a company that miscalculated more than $400,000 in overtime wages, a hospital system that missed three payroll cycles for employees, and a coal company that had not paid employees for two payroll cycles.
These companies will also be fined for failing to pay employees.
