4 Injured in Clays Mill & Lane Allen Road Collision

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are trying to figure out what led to a car crash that sent four people to the hospital.

Officials say around 11:30 p.m. Monday a car with three people inside ran a red light at the intersection of Lane Allen and Clays Mill Roads and hit a pickup truck.

Officers say one person in the car got a head injury from hitting the windshield while not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the truck got a burn from the airbag and everyone had a few bumps and bruises, but they’re all expected to be okay.

One witness says she’s glad she was right across the street when it happened because she was able to offer some help to one of the victims.

“The only thing we heard was a big loud boom, ran up from the basement, and seen the red truck in the yard and the old lady laying on the ground,” says Ashley Stanfield. “We were concerned. I walked over and I asked her if she was okay. She was saying she was hurt. I told her to lay still until EMS got there. Don’t move, don’t do anything and then a registered nurse pulled up and got onto her as soon as possible.”

Investigators are now looking into the possibility that alcohol could have played a role in the crash.
