$30k in scholarships awarded to Kentucky students
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation announced they had awarded $30,000 in scholarships to 25 students across Kentucky on Thursday.
This program was founded in 1999, to build a memorial that would honor all Kentucky officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Once the monument was completed in 2000, it expanded its efforts to include scholarships and other financial endowments to help Kentucky officers and their families with educational, medical, and emergency relief.
“I cannot think of a better way to honor the fallen heroes of the past and our officers of today than to help educate their survivors, their comrades and their dependents for a better future.” said KLEMF Executive Director Drexel Neal.
