Man seriously wounded in deputy-involved shooting

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man was seriously wounded in a deputy-involved shooting Wednesday night in Anderson County, according to State Police.

Investigators say a man who lives on Redwing Way in the western part of the county became angry when two people started riding utility task vehicles on the private road.

State Police say the man became so angry that he drove into one of the UTV’s, went back to his house and started shooting at another house and barn on the road.

Anderson County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and when they approached the man’s house, he started shooting at them, according to KSP.

A deputy or deputies returned fire, hitting the man. He was airlifted to UK Hospital in Lexington in serious condition, according to State Police.

The man’s name wasn’t released.

State Police say they’re still trying to determine if one or more deputies returned fire.

No one else was hurt in the incident, according to State Police.
