FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – One key number slowly keeps climbing. Others drop just as slowly.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced Thursday 2,134,353 Kentuckians have gotten at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.
Meanwhile, 255 new cases of COVID were registered in the state, up from 233 Wednesday, with 43 of the newcases in people 18 and under.
And the state’s positivity rate continues to stagnate, registering 2.06% Thursday, remaining in the range it’s been in for more than a week.
The state continues to have no ‘red’ counties and only seven in the ‘orange’ category, which is down one from Wednesday. The vast majority are in yellow.
The state reported three coronavirus-related deaths, bringing Kentucky’s overall death toll since the pandemic hit to 7,178.
Of the total cases, the state said 229 people, down from 238 Wednesday, were in the hospital, 66 are in ICU, up one from Wednesday, and 36 are on a ventilator, up one from Wednesday.
