SCAM ALERT: caller claims to be with police


NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Nicholasville Police say someone is calling people, claiming to be law enforcement.

The caller tells people their social security number has been used by someone else.

The caller says the victim needs to pay money to police, using a gift card, in order to fix the problem.

Police officers say they would never do that. If you ever get a call like this, call the real police.
