LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fast-food chain Rally’s announced Thursday it was the target of a data breach and customers in Kentucky could be affected.
The company says close to 100 Rally’s and Checkers locations in 20 states are involved in a data breach, including three Kentucky locations.
Customers who made a purchase at the Rally’s at 2975 Richmond Road in Lexington from April 18-19, 2019, the Rally’s at 1478 W. Lexington Avenue in Winchester from October 14, 2018 – April 30, 2019, and Rally’s at 1790 Airport Exchange in Erlanger from October 13, 2018 – April 8, 2019 are being advised to check their bank statements.
According to the company, malware was installed on some payment card readers, allowing access the siphoned cardholder names, payment card numbers, card expiration dates and card verification codes.
In addition to checking bank statements, the company is also recommending that customers who may have been affected order a free credit report and report any incidents to the Federal Trade Commission.
