LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Even in this week’s arctic cold, some people are still out on the roads, getting stuck.

A tow truck driver says the weather is keeping him busy.

Matt Baker is a heavy wrecker driver at Roberts Heavy Duty Towing.

He says Roberts is much busier during bad weather.

“A lot more breakdowns. People getting stuck in the snow and ice,” Roberts said.

The Lexington Police Department says it responded to 53 crashes just between midnight and 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Baker encourages drivers to slow down so they won’t be included in that growing number.

“Be cautious on the slick roads and, you know, warm clothes,” Baker said.

You’ll need them if you have to wait for his help so maybe just stay in if you can.
