Adair County students suspended over Halloween costumes

COLUMBIA, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two Adair County students have been suspended after dressing up for Halloween at school as the Columbine High School shooters.

A photo posted on Instagram shows the two girls on the floor of the school’s library mimicking Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris after they killed themselves in the Columbine library.

Klebold and Harris went on a shooting spree April 20, 1999, killing 13 people and wounding more than 20 others at the school in Littleton, Colorado.

The Columbine shooting was, at the time, the worst high school shooting in U.S. history, prompting a national debate on gun control and school safety.

Adair County suspended the two students for three days.
