2 sent to hospital after accident on New Circle Road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two people have been sent to the hospital after an accident on New Circle Road that caused a serious traffic backup on Tuesday morning.

According to Lexington police, a vehicle was sitting on the side of the road off the outer loop of New Circle road near Richmond Road, when another car hit it.   The person driving the vehicle on the side of the road was not in the vehicle at the time, but did suffer a leg injury and was taken to the hospital.

The other person driving the car was also taken to the hospital.

No word on the condition of either person.

The accident caused one lane of New Circle Road to be shut down for a few hours.  The road is now re-open.
