2 people arrested on multiple charges in Laurel County
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Two individuals were arrested Monday afternoon after deputies received a referral regarding a physical abuse complaint.
29 year-old Stephanie Lynne Smith of London and 23 year-old Jason Darrell Smith of London are both charged with public intoxication, controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; and wanton endangerment in the second-degree.
Sheriff John Root reports that Detective Kyle Gray made the arrests off Stamper Lane, which is roughly 7 miles south of London.
Detective Gray was accompanied by social services.
When Detective Gray arrived at the scene he found Stephanie Smith outside the residence seemingly under the influence.
It was determined that she was under the influence after an investigation was conducted.
Detective Gray found two bongs used for smoking marijuana, two pipes with residue, rolling papers, and other drug paraphernalia inside the residence.
An 11 month old male juvenile, who was identified as Stephanie Smith’s son, was also found inside the residence.
According to reports, both Stephanie Smith and her live-in boyfriend Jason Smith had smoked marijuana inside the residence while the infant was inside.
Both individuals are lodged in the Laurel County detention Center.
Social services placed the 11-month-old with other family members.
Three other children who apparently lived at the residence were already with other family members.
