2 injured in Sunday afternoon shooting

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) — Update, 01/07/24, 9:10 p.m.

Lexington Police have released the name of the suspect in Sunday’s afternoon shooting.

63-year-old Urbano Romero, was charged with two counts of Assault 1st Degree- Domestic Violence and three counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.

He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Two people are in the hospital and one person is in custody after a shooting Sunday afternoon in Lexington.

According to the Lexington Police, around 3:20 p.m. officers were called to the 2700 block of Red Clover Lane for a shooting.

Officers found two victims, who were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, a male family member of the victims, left the scene but was located and arrested down the road.

The investigation is ongoing.
