2 found dead in apartment in Georgetown, toddler found unharmed

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ)- Georgetown Police say two people have been found dead in an apartment, with an unharmed toddler also inside around 1:30 Thursday afternoon.

Police say this happened at Red Oak Apartments on Myers in Scott County.

They say someone inside the apartment had been texting someone out of concern and that person called the police.

Police say that when they got to the apartment, they weren’t able to get inside. They heard what sounded like three gunshots, that’s when they forced entry.

They say a man and a woman were found dead inside with an 18-month-old girl, who is okay.

The Scott County coroner says the man and woman are in their mid-twenties. The coroner says the initial investigation shows the man shot the woman, then himself.

Both bodies have been taken to Frankfort for autopsies.
