Coroner identifies 4-year-old twin boys who died in fire

HINDMAN, Ky. (AP) – A coroner in eastern Kentucky has identified the two children who died in a house fire last week as 4-year-old twin brothers.

Knott County Coroner Jeff Blair told media on Monday that Marcus Caden Alexander Waddles and Jonathan Braxton Gage Waddles died Friday in the blaze at a home in the Lackey community.

Blair says the boys’ mother, stepfather and another child were able to get out of the home.

Kentucky State Police fire investigators are trying to determine what caused the blaze.

LACKEY, Ky. (AP) – A coroner in eastern Kentucky says two children have died in a house fire.

Knott County Coroner Jeff Blair told media the bodies were taken to the medical examiner’s office for positive identification.

Blair says two adults and another child were able to escape the fire, which was reported about 5 a.m. Friday at a home in the Lackey community.

Kentucky State Police fire investigators are trying to determine what caused the blaze.
