2 charged in connection to rape of 12-year-old in Harrison County
HARRISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Investigators in Harrison County accuse one man of raping a child and another of helping it happen.
According to arrest documents, 19-year-old Hezekiah Hockensmith drove a 12-year-old girl from her grandparent’s home on May 31 around 2:30 a.m.
Kentucky State Police say 18-year-old Jonathan Carpenter was also in the vehicle, and pulled out a gun and ordered the girl to perform oral sex on him.
Police say Hockensmith then drove to his home, where Carpenter put the gun to the girl’s head and forced her to have intercourse with him.
Hockensmith remained outside during the rape, but later admitted to investigators he heard what he described as “sex” coming from inside the home, according to documents.
After learning the girl’s family reported her missing, police say Hockensmith dropped her off at a local gas station.
Carpenter is charged with first-degree rape and sodomy.
Hockensmith is charged with complicity to first-degree rape and sodomy.
Carpenter remains in jail on a $50,000 bond.
Hockensmith was released on a $25,000 bond.
