2 arrested in Corbin counterfeit bill case

CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff’s Office says a Knox Co. man and woman have been arrested in connection to a number of counterfeit $100-dollar bills that were passed at the Walmart.

According to the Sheriff, between January 9th and January 10th, seven of the bogus bills were used at the store.  The Sheriff released surveillance photos, appealing to the community for help in identifying the suspects.

The Sheriff says tips from Facebook led deputies to arrest 57-year-old Anette Hammons and 37-year-old Thomas Hammons.  According to deputies, the two were using a home computer and printer to create the counterfeit bills.  Investigators say they found a corner of a copied bill in the home.
