1st annual Poker Run for special needs kids this weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Saturday, motorcycle riders from around Kentucky will be lifting their kickstands and cruising for a cause.

The group known as “Bikers for Children with Special Needs” will host the 1st annual Poker Run.

The special 70 mile ride aims at bringing smiles to special needs kids.

Bikers will start at McLeods Coffee House, a coffee shop that employs special needs people.

They’ll then be taking the backroads and visiting with kids from Steps and Strides Equestrian Services.

Logan dedman, one of the co-organizers say proceeds will go to the horse riding school to help make a difference.

“The horse riding school is great because it allows special needs who want to feel accepted as much as everybody else. It gives them that same opportunity to do the same thing as everybody else,” says Dedman.

The ride will take place from 11 a-m to 2 p-m saturday, with registration starting at 9:30 am.
