15-year old driver accused of causing crash in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a 15-year old driver caused a crash that sent several people to the hospital Friday night.
Police say it happened around 7:45 p.m. on Leestown Road at Alexandria Drive.
Investigators say the teen, who did not have a driver’s license, pulled into the path of and SUV as it tried to make a turn.
Police say a person in the SUV was ejected during the collision and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There were four children in the SUV who were taken to the hospital to be checked out, according to police.
Investigators say there were three juveniles in the van that was driven by the 15-year old, but that only one of the occupants suffered minor injuries.
Police say the 15-year old was cited for driving without a license and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
