125 new COVID cases push Fayette over 30,000 cases

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington has now surpassed more than 30,000 COVID-19 cases.

With 125 new cases reported Thursday, the city has had 30,092 total cases and 205 deaths since the outbreak began in March, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s morning report Friday.

The number of new cases continued a pattern that suggest coronavirus cases in the county may be stabilizing, even if not declining significantly.

The monthly totals of COVID-19 cases during the outbreak are:

• 2,538, August
• 2,804, September
• 2,736, October

• 5,991, December
• 6,155, January
