Two arrested in London flea market burglary

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officers in London made two burglary arrests early Monday morning after an alarm sounded at the Flea Land Flea Market on Barbourville Road.

Officers say the alarm went off just before 2:30 a.m.  When they responded, police say they say two men loading items from a jewelry case into a bag.

When the men saw officers approaching they ran off in two directions, say police.  Investigators say they were able to catch 25-year old James B. Sizemore first, and took 26-year-old Timothy B. Hampton into custody a short time later.

According to officers, Sizemore and Hampton used a crowbar and kicked a wall in to gain entry.  Police say both men had several pieces of jewelry and electronics on them.

Both men were charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.

They were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
