No students injured, one sent to hospital after car hits school bus

DRY RIDGE, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person was sent to the hospital after a vehicle hit a school bus Wednesday morning in Dry Ridge.

Officers say it happened just before 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Bypass Road and Bypass Connector Road.  Police say a car traveling east on Bypass Road went through a red light, hitting the school bus as it came through the intersection.

Investigators say 18 students were aboard the bus, but that none of them were injured.

The driver of the car was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital.  No word on the extent of the driver’s injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
