Guilty plea in 2014 kidnapping & murder case
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused in the kidnapping of Alex Johnson in 2014 has accepted a plea deal.
Timothy Ballard pleaded guilty on Friday in circuit court to kidnapping Johnson and tampering with evidence.
Johnson was found dead, in a barrel back in 2014.
According to Fayette Circuit Court, Timothy Ballard has agreed to testify against a second man charged in the murder case.
The Commonwealth recommended Ballard serve a 20-year sentence. He will receive his sentence on July 1.
Mark Taylor is charged with murder in the case. He will go to trial June 6.
