$1 million Powerball winner comes forward

FLORENCE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The holder of a $1 million Powerball prize from Wednesday night’s drawing has come forward.

The Kentucky Lottery says the winner wants to remain anonymous.

The winning ticket, bought in Florence, matched the white ball numbers drawn – 01, 05, 16, 22 and 54 but had the Powerball as 2. The Powerball number drawn was 24.

According to the lottery, while claiming the prize, the man said his fiancé asked if they could finally get a new mattress. He responded, “It’s possible.”

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing stands at an estimated $137 million.
