$1 million Powerball ticket sold in Lexington claimed
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Lottery announced Wednesday that the winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million sold in last week’s drawing has been claimed.
Lottery officials say the winner, who is from Lexington and wants to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at the Minit Mart on Leestown Road during her lunch break on the Friday before the drawing on October 17.
“It’s surreal. It feels like a dream,” lottery officials say the winner told them. “I never win anything.”
After taxes, she walked out of lottery headquarters with a check for $710,000.
The Minit Mart will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
