Young entrepreneur sees political future

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The 34-year-old founder of a garbage company could play a key role in U.S. Sen. Rand Paul’s presidential campaign next year.

Nate Morris, CEO of Rubicon Global, has become a major Republican fundraiser. The Lexington native got his start raising money for former President George W. Bush in 2004 and has since raised money for Paul and U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.

Paul, the Kentucky Republican likely to run for president next year, says Morris has introduced him to a lot of people and will have a role on his campaign "as big as he wants."

Morris’ company, Rubicon Global, analyzes businesses’ waste to figure out the cheapest and most environmentally friendly way to get rid of it. Last month, Fortune Magazine named Morris to its annual "40 under 40" list.
