Yoder the police horse back on patrol
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington police horse injured after falling into a manhole is now back at work.
Yoder’s leg became stuck in an uncovered utility access hole during the Christmas parade in downtown Lexington.
It took two hours to get him out.
He was taken to Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital to be treated for abrasions.
Yoder’s training with the Lexington Police Department’s mounted unit is credited with keeping the 17-year-old from being seriously injured.
On Tuesday, the Lexington Police Department announced Yoder was back on patrol.
