YMCA unveils multi-million dollar renovations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The YMCA held its grand re-opening ceremony today, for their North Lexington location at 10:00 a.m. After a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating a $3 million renovation, the doors opened for the first time.

The improvements doubled the size of their health and wellness center, added brand new locker rooms, a kid’s area, and expanded their group exercise room.

David Martorano, President and CEO of YMCA of Central KY said; “At the end of the day, this is about our community and we have invested in our community. It’s a place for families to come and play together and a place for our community to get healthy together.”

The renovations were possible, in part, thanks to Lexmark matching a $1.5 million gift to the YMCA.
