WWII Plane On Display At Airport
A flying piece of history was in the bluegrass today.
The Whiskey-Seven, one of the planes that dropped paratroopers for the D-Day Invasion of Normandy was on display at the airport in Frankfort.
After it took the soldiers from England to France, it continued the route carrying supplies.
While the plane itself is still impressive, the volunteers that fly it say they hope it’s visit to the Capitol City will help visitors understand the past.
If you want to take a look at the flying piece of history yourself, you can check it out at the Capitol City Airport in Frankfort from 10 – 5 p.m. tomorrow.
