WVU Parkersburg admissions counselor dies in crash

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) – The driver who died in a head-on collision with a school bus in West Virginia is identified as an admissions counselor at a nearby university.

News outlets report David Shutts was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash Wednesday about half a mile from West Virginia University Parkersburg.

The university’s president says Shutts worked at the school. There were 22 high school students on the bus involved in the crash. One was taken to a hospital for a minor injury.

The rest were taken to an elementary school before being released to their parents.
