WPSD-TV executive to take on role as Paducah Sun publisher
PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) – The Paxton Media Group has announced that WPSD-TV vice president and general manager Bill Evans will be the next publisher of The Paducah Sun.
Evans will succeed Jim Paxton, who is retiring after 32 years at the western Kentucky newspaper. Evans will take on the role beginning Oct. 1.
Paxton Media Group owns both the station and the newspaper and said Evans would continue in his role at the station after becoming publisher.
Richard Paxton, who is president of West Kentucky Media for Paxton Media Group, says Evans is willing to explore new ideas and new ways of delivering news and information to the readers of The Paducah Sun, viewers of WPSD-TV, and users of digital and print platforms provided by both entities.
