Worker’s Memorial Day Held In Lexington
A Worker’s Memorial Day was held Sunday in Lexington.
One of the organizers of the event, Tammy Miser, lost her brother in a work-related accident.
Miser said before her brother’s death, she had no idea how many work-related accidents were happening in the United States.
It’s estimated that 12-14 families in the U.S. receive a call every day telling them a loved one was hurt in a work-related accident.
Sunday’s memorial was a way to remember those workers who have been killed on the job and show support for their families.
"They just know they’re not alone," said Miser. "And I think that’s important for them to know. It’s important for them to have that support."
The event began last year.
