Woodland Arts Fair ready for 40th annual event

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A staple since 1975, the Woodland Art Fair will once again bring some of the nation’s most talented artists to Lexington’s Woodland Park this weekend.

The fair will take place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 16. It is free and open to the public.

This year, the Fair boasts original works of 200 accomplished artists, including 52 from Kentucky. Visitors can also enjoy live musical performances and create their own family art. Booths with Kentucky foods and a craft beer garden featuring four local brews will also be on-hand.

To get to the fair, free shuttles (including one wheelchair-accessible) will provide pickup and drop-off service every 10 minutes. Visitors may park in the LexTran Transit Center parking garage (enter from E. High Street near the Lexington Avenue/Martin Luther King Blvd. intersections), the Phoenix parking lot (located on Water Street behind the Government Center) or the Lexington Herald-Leader front parking lot (Midland Avenue).

For those not walking or driving to the park, a free bike check will be available. Cyclists should park their bikes at the park’s practice tennis court.

A complete roster of artists and an entertainment schedule can be found by visiting the Lexington Art League’s website at www.lexingtonartleague.org.
