Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East receives $50K grant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East will receive one of the WHAS Crusade for Children’s largest grants ever in the Lexington area, providing funding to help Kentucky’s most vulnerable children.

The Crusade for Children is awarding The Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East a $50,000 grant to upgrade the NICU with valuable equipment that will help improve patient outcomes and save lives.

The Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East provides the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable babies with advanced neonatal care. In 2013, The Women’s Hospital NICU was granted Neonatal Level III status by the state. Since then, the NICU has experienced a 63 percent increase in daily patient volume.

The critical funding provided by the WHAS Crusade for Children will be used purchase additional beds and monitors for the Level III NICU, helping provide care to infants affected by premature birth, neonatal abstinence syndrome, fetal anomaly, and respiratory disease.
