Women veterans conference set for April 11
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky women who served in the military are invited to a conference focusing on a number of issues including benefits and employment.
The conference will start at 8:30 a.m. EDT on Saturday, April 11 at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville.
The Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs is sponsoring the event that will conclude at 3:45 p.m.
The department’s commissioner, Heather French Henry, says the conference will feature sessions dealing with a range of issues, including benefits and services, health care and housing, jobs and networking. She says Kentucky’s women veterans are a huge potential asset for the state.
The department says admission to the conference is free, including lunch, but registration is required because space is limited.
