Woman Rescued From Nicholasville House Fire

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Jessamine County Fire District says a woman was rescued from a house fire.

It says it happened Thursday afternoon on Mare Haven Trail. Firefighters say there was smoke coming from the home when they arrived. A bystander reportedly told firefighters they could see a woman at a window, trying to escape.

Investigators say Assistant Fire Chief Gerald Wheeler then forced his way into the home, found the woman, and pulled her to safety. They say the victim was treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire district says firefighters put out a kitchen fire in the home.
