Woman pleads guilty in DUI crash that killed Lexington man

VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman pleaded guilty Wednesday in Woodford Circuit Court in a DUI crash case that left a Lexington man dead, according to the court clerk.

Prosecutors recommended 10-years in prison, a $200 fine and to be determined restitution for Ashley Ishmael, according to court documents.

She’s scheduled to be sentenced November 1, 2017.

Investigators say on October 3, 2016, Ishmael caused a head-on crash that killed 24-year old Darinel Ricon Hernandez, of Lexington.  He died at the scene.

The deadly collision happened on Leestown Road in Woodford County near the Scott County line.

Ishmael was initially charged with manslaughter, DUI and being a persistent felony offender.
