LPD: Man used mace to rob disabled Lexington woman

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington woman says she was sprayed with mace and robbed at gunpoint in her home.

According to court documents, 54-year-old Joseph Nicholson came into her home through an unlocked door and holding a gun back on September 17th.

The victim, who is disabled, says Nicholson sprayed her in the face with mace.

Court documents say around this time, the woman’s neighbor came to check on her.

The neighbor tells police she saw Nicholson on top of the victim.

The neighbor says when she came in, Nicholson jumped up and ran out of the house with the victim’s purse containing several hundred dollars in cash.

Police say the victim knew Nicholson through mutual friends.

Nicholson was arrested Monday, according to police.   He is charged with burglary, according to investigators.
