Woman killed, teen injured in Jackson County crash

MCKEE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash that killed one woman and injured a teenager in Jackson County.

Troopers say it happened at around 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of KY-587 and KY-3445.

They say the teenager was driving a 2013 Nissan passenger car and was making a left turn onto KY-587 when she struck a 2002 GMC Yukon being driven by 47-year-old Matachia Creech of McKee.

Troopers say the GMC Yukon overturned multiple times and Creech was thrown from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner.

The other driver was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

State police say the investigation is ongoing.
