Woman killed in Perry County crash

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a crash that killed a Breathitt County woman.

The accident happened on Highway 15 in the Engle community of Perry County at 2:35 p.m. Thursday.

According to State Police, 46-year-old Bruce Turner of Haddix, was traveling north on Highway 15 when he lost control of his car and hit a guardrail.

The car rolled over an embankment and struck a utility pole.

State Police say a passenger in the car, 61-year-old Annmarie Nickell of Haddix, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County deputy coroner.

Turner was taken to Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers say both were wearing seat belts.
