UPDATE: Woman Charged in Versailles Rd. Standoff Connected to Frankfort Robbery

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Franklin Co. Sheriff says a woman charged with theft, fleeing and evading, and wanton endangerment in an incident that shut down Versailles Road last Tuesday for hours, is also being charged in the robbery of a store in Franklin County that occurred only 24 hours prior.

Sheriff Pat Melton says 46-year-old Robin Holbert robbed the Evergreen Market on Monday, October 24 at about 8:30 p.m.  The clerk at the store says she came into the business covered in white paint or powder, and wearing a white hat with sunglasses.  Holbert reportedly pulled a gun during the robbery, and threatened to shoot the clerk if he didn’t hand over money.  She took off after receiving the cash, according to the Sheriff.

Holbert was arrested by Lexington police the following day, after being pulled over on Versailles Road in a stolen car and running from officers, initiating what would turn into an 8-hour standoff.

The Sheriff says tips from the community, as well as help from the Lexington Police Department helped them connect Holbert to the robbery.  Melton says items they were looking for from the robbery were in Holbert’s possession when she was arrested in Lexington.

Melton says Holbert has admitted to the robbery.  He also says Holbert, originally from Lawrenceburg, has additional charges pending from Franklin, Anderson, and Woodford Counties.
