Woman Found Shot On Street In Lexington
A woman was found wounded on a Lexington street Friday morning.
Police got the call about shots fired and a possible victim on East Seventh Street just before 12:30 a.m.
When they got to the scene, they discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to her torso.
She was taken to the University of Kentucky hospital where she underwent surgery.
Police said they do not believe her wound is life-threatening.
Shortly after the shooting, police said someone told them the person involved was at a home on East Seventh.
Police said they went to the home and found evidence that was possibly linked to the shooting, though police would not say what that evidence was.
They said they could not get anyone to answer the door for a while but that a man eventually came out.
He was arrested on an unrelated charge.
Police said he is being questioned about the shooting.
