UPDATE: Man accused of shooting girlfriend in Richmond home
UPDATE (12/12/19, 3:02 p.m.) – Police say a man is in custody for an in-home shooting reported in Richmond Thursday morning.
The Richmond Police Department says 40-year-old Brandon B. Garner shot his girlfriend in the bedroom of her home. Officers say she is in critical condition.
After investigating, police say they found the gun very close to Garner, seven bullet holes and a large amount of blood.
Officers say they also found suspected heroin.
Garner is charged with assault, possession of a handgun by a former convict and possession of a controlled substance.

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say they found a woman shot Thursday morning in a home in Richmond.
The Richmond Police Department says a call came in around 8 a.m. about a domestic disturbance on Darlene Court.
Officers say a woman in the home was shot and her injuries were non-life-threatening. Police say a man in the home also had non-life-threatening injuries, but he was not shot. They were both taken to the hospital, according to police.
Authorities say no arrests have been made at this time.
