Woman found dead after apparent assault in Whitley County

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Williamsburg woman was found dead after an apparent assault.

According to the Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London, a call came in to the Whitley County 911 Center around 7 PM Sunday night about a woman lying in the roadway on Old Mud Creek Road.

Troopers say they did not see anyone in the roadway upon arrival, but did find evidence in the road that suggested there had been an apparent assault.

Evidence in the roadway led officers to a residence on Old Mud Creek Road.

There they found the body of 36 year-old Michelle Marlow of Williamsburg.

38 year-old Chris Lowe and 37 year-old Lori Mattie, both of Williamsburg, were located at the residence and arrested.

Lowe is charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence and Mattie is charged with murder.

Marlow’s body is being transported to the State Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort where an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The case is still under investigation.
