Woman charged with murder in Bryan Station Road shooting, victim identified

UPDATE: According to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, the victim was 42-year-old Edwin Haddix of Lexington. The coroner said Haddix died from multiple gunshot wounds.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A woman has been charged with murder after a deadly shooting late Sunday night in Lexington.

Police say the shooting happened around 11:55 p.m. on Sunday in the 1700 block of Bryan Station Road. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release his name.

Investigators say the suspect, 30-year-old Keaira Pennie, was arrested a short time later and charged with murder. She is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
