Berea woman arrested after K-9 finds suspected fentanyl in vehicle

BEREA, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Berea woman is facing drug charges after a police K-9 detected suspected fentanyl during an investigation Tuesday on Candlewood Drive.

Police said multiple agencies responded to a home as part of an ongoing investigation. While officers were on scene, K-9 “Bruno” conducted an exterior sniff of several vehicles parked at the residence.

According to officials, Bruno alerted to a black Ford Escape. During a search of the SUV, officers found a child’s shoebox containing a sealed package with suspected fentanyl inside.

Katherine Harrison was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance. The investigation is ongoing.
