Woman arrested after ramming husbands vehicle and assaulting deputy jailer
LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Deputies arrest woman after getting reports of her ramming a car on the side of the road.
53 year-old Deidre Morgan May was arrested Monday just before 1 AM after calls came in from a man that she was ramming his vehicle with her own.
The man, identified as May’s husband.
When deputies arrived on scene, the found May behind the wheel of her running vehicle that was still in drive.
Deputies told May to put the vehicle in park and exit it, but she refused; eventually she put it in park, but would not get out.
Once she finally exited the vehicle, deputies noticed a strong smell of alcohol and determined that she was under the influence.
May was arrested and taken into custody after a brief struggle with deputies.
Deputies discovered there had allegedly been a domestic assault at their home off O. Johnson Road, which resulted in May’s husband leaving the residence.
May then followed him and allegedly began to ram his vehicle off Keavy road, two miles south of London.
While May was being lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center she smacked a female deputy jailer in the face and then kicked her.
She is charged with wanton endangerment, assault, domestic violence, resisting arrest, inmate assault on a correctional employee, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
