Woman arrested in overdose death

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Laurel County woman is facing a murder charge after authorities say she provided a deadly dose of fentanyl earlier this year.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Courtney K. Boone of East Bernstadt was arrested Monday evening around 6:15 on Kentucky 192 in London.

Investigators say Boone is accused of supplying a fatal mix of fentanyl and methamphetamine to a 26-year-old man who lived off Douglas Lane, about seven miles north of London. The Laurel County Coroner’s Office confirmed the man’s death was caused by an overdose.

Boone was taken into custody and booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center, where she’s being held on a murder charge.
