Woman arrested in connection to downtown Lexington New Year’s Day shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A woman has been arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in downtown Lexington on New Year’s Day.

Police say 24-year-old Monteza Long has been charged with wanton endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits.

Lexington police responded to the 100 block of West Main Street around 2 a.m. on Monday for a report of shots fired. While officers arrived at the scene, a woman who had been shot went to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the investigation, detectives learned that the shooting stemmed from a disorder.

Long is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
